Changes Are Constent

Changing interests and focuses in our lives make life more interesting and FUN. With that in mind I have added a couple more blogs: Preschool Learning Adventure and Mama's Reading Nook both are linked to Primarily A Mama blog. This will stay as my main page, but the others you can access through the tabs above. I will make excerpt posts here for each post written on the other blogs and link them so you can just click and go. I hope this will help keep things better organized and clean looking for myself and all of you.

My Family And I Can Serve Others. November 2009 week 1

Start by asking the children, "What are you thankful for?"

Write their responses on the board. When one of them say "Family" stop all the other responses. (Of course if no one says it, you will have to lead them to the answer.)

(Get together pictures of the Savior serving others: Jesus Washing the Feet of Apostles, Healing the Sick, Taking Upon Him Our Sins, Dying on the Cross, Providing the Way for us to Live Again, Being There When We Need Him Add any others you want too. Place them all over a board for visual effect)

The Savior provided the perfect example of service. He explained that He didn’t come to earth to be served but to serve and to give His life for us. Jesus Christ loves all of us more than we can understand. When He was on earth He served the poor, the ignorant, the sinner, the despised. He taught the gospel to all who would listen, fed crowds of hungry people who came to hear Him, healed the sick, and raised the dead.

Jesus commanded us to love and serve everyone. There are many opportunities to serve

We can serve members of our families…. Children can serve by helping with household chores and by helping brothers and sisters.
Our prophets have told us that a family is the most important unit in society. We must serve our families well

“Chapter 28: Service,”; Gospel Principles, (2009),161-66

What type of things can we do to to serve our families. Write or draw responses on the board.

Give each child a calender to take home.
Think of some ways that you could serve your family this month. Every day try to do some type of service and when you do draw a smile face on your calender.
